Wendy works as an Advanced Practice Nurse with Electrophysiologist Dr. Blair Foreman. Functioning in versatile roles throughout her career, Wendy has expanded her knowledge regarding multifaceted patient care in the Medical-Surgical and Medical Telemetry units; as a Research Assistant; and in family practice. Her experience has given her the proficiency to support Dr. Foreman in quality inpatient and outpatient care.
Wendy earned her RN diploma in 1986 from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated Cum Laude with an Associates of Science in Chemistry from Blackhawk College in 1997. She continued her education and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois in 1999, graduating Cum Laude. She achieved her Masters Degree in 2001 from the University of Illinois.
She is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is subspecialty trained in Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, and device therapy. She is certified by the International Board of Heart Examiners as a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist.
Wendy is an associate professional of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society. She has been a member of the Quad Cities Area Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant Alliance since its inception. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses; Alpha Lambda Chapter, inducted in 1999. She has been recognized as a Distinguished Nurse Alumnus by the University of Illinois in 2008. She is a founding member and co-director of the local defibrillator support group Wired For Life.
Professional interests include device therapy, arrhythmia management, heart failure, and research to help improve patient care and health care delivery.
