Judi Deckert provides patient care in Cardiovascular Medicine’s Cholesterol Management Program under the leadership of the Medical Director. She prescribes and adjusts medications to treat patients with elevated cholesterol. Under her care, patients are counseled regarding the importance of lifestyle changes including diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and weight management. Working on the Progressive Care Cardiac Unit at Genesis Medical Center enhanced her clinical skills and her commitment to reducing the risks of cardiovascular disease. Judi Deckert attended Clarke College and received her Bachelor of Science in 1983. She furthered her education at the University of Illinois, received her Masters of Science in Nursing and completing the Family Nurse Practitioner Program in 1997. Judi is Board Certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. She is a member of the National Lipid Association. Judi’s professional interests include cholesterol management, cardiovascular disease prevention and weight management, especially for those who are dealing with metabolic syndrome. In her personal life, Judi enjoys strength training at the YMCA, running, biking, as well as hiking and camping with her family.
