Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants assist our Physicians in providing the best care for patients with heart failure, heart attacks, angina, cardiac, and vein diseases as permitted by their licensure.

Shawna Duske

MS, ARNP, ACNP-BC

Shawna Duske works with Peripheral Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Nicolas Shammas. Her wealth of knowledge stems from a clinical, diagnostic, and risk management perspective. Shawna’s background as a support RN and Clinical Coordinator at CVM allow her to effectively support Dr. Shammas in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Shawna attended Wartburg College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1993. She attended Grandview College, graduating in 1996 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She furthered her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago,
receiving her Master of Science in Nursing and completing the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program in 2005.

Shawna is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of Quad City APN/PA Alliance, American College of Clinicians, and the American College of Cardiology. Shawna’s professional interests include congestive heart failure and peripheral vascular disease.
